JAI9 First Giggle

Has it been a week since my last post already. I really don't know where the time goes.
Well actually I have an idea that it might be this little person.

When I was taking photos of my challenge entry I turned around to discover him doing a little computing of his own. He is such a character. (Excuse my very messy desk in the picture there too).

This week's challenge at Just Add Ink is a sketch. You have until Wednesday to enter so if you haven't already be sure to give it a go.
Here is the sketch:

And here is my Scrapbook page:

I have used the Rock-a-Bye Boy Simply Scrappin Kit from Stampin' Up!.

Here is a close-up of my journalling and the sticker I have used for the title.

JAI8 Bunny

This week at Just Add Ink the theme is to "Just Add Easter".

What says Easter more than a cute bunny (well except chocolate maybe).

Obviously, I must have liked the colour challenge last week as I have used the same colours again this week (they just happened to match the bunny my Sam is holding in the photos).

Here is a close-up of the punch art bunny. I have sponged all the separate pieces to give him a little depth.

The base of my layout is Tempting Turquoise cardstock topped with a sheet of paper from the Windsor Knot DSP set. I have cut a circle from Green Galore cardstock and stamped this with the Polka Dot background stamp.

I have used my Scallop border punch and Curly Lable punch on some cardstock strips and added some So Saffron ribbon for a bit of detail. The flowers come from the So Tweet chipboard set and have just been sponged with ink.

Don't forget to check out all the other entries at Just Add Ink.

Happy stamping

JAI7 Bloom

This week at Just Add Ink they have a colour challenge.

These colours just make me feel happy..so bright and fresh.
Here is my entry:

I started with a base of Tempting Turquoise and swiped with my white craft ink pad.
I then added paper from the Kaleidoscope DSP from the Summer Mini Catalogue. My embellishments have been cut from the papers from this range. This is one of my favourite ways to use patterned papers.
I covered my chipboard letters with White Craft Ink and then applied a layer of crystal effects and chunky glitter. I left these to dry overnight before adding to my layout.

Some of the flowers have been popped up on dimensionals.

I also used the double slot punch to thread Tempting Turquoise ribbon along one edge of my layout.
Be sure to check out all the entries at Just Add Ink.

I made a sun embellishment using my large star punch for the rays and the 1 3/4" circle for the centre. The buttons come from the Button Latte set.

I used some felt flowers and a silver flower Designer Brad for another embellishment.

Bridal Shower Card

One of my lovely scrapbooking friends is getting married this month and to celebrate Mum and I travelled to Uralla on Sunday for a little scrapbooking shower with friends.
It was a lovely day and even though I did absolutely no scrapbooking it was fabulous to catch up.
I was still in a pink, black and white mood after this layout (and it won the Stamp-A-Memory Challenge..I was very excited lol).
Anyway back to the card, I have used Sale-a-bration set "Vintage Labels" together with the Mr & Mrs from "Occasional Greetings" and the damask stamp from "Friends 24-7".
The large black scallop oval is actually a diecut I "borrowed" from my Mum's stash but it fitted the wide oval punch so perfectly...obviously it was meant to be.
Here is Dannii and her gorgeous bub Cooper. Aren't the veil and bling divine.

Danni sure knows how to dress for the occasion.

Wishing you all the best for a fabulous wedding day Dannii and a lifetime of love and laughter with your man and your gorgeous little bub.

Can't wait for another Scrapbooking day otherwise I will be waiting to see all the girls in August at this fabulous event.

I was checking the SPCC blog this morning for the new colour challenge and noticed that my soccer layout made the Top 5. I thought that was prety cool. Love those cute photos of Ben playing soccer.

Thanks for visiting and thanks to everyone who has left comments for me. I absolutely love reading them and it has really made my week.

Stampin Addicts Challenge 30

I am on a roll with the scrapbook pages lately...and it is challenges I have to thank. There is something about it that narrows all the choices and lets me just create rather than staring at my enormous craft stash and wondering where to start.

If your mojo is missing I would definately suggest attempting a few challenges. I recently discovered another scrapbook challenge. This time it is at Stampin Addicts.

This week the challenge is to use your ribbon scraps and I soon as I read it I new exactly what I was going to do.
There was a card featured in the Summer Mini catalogue that used the negative space from the Heart to Heart punch and had ribbon behind it. I had stored the idea away to use one day and this was the perfect opportunity.
I started out with a strip of Tangerine Tango cardstock and punched out small and large stars. I then turned it over and stuck on my ribbon scraps turned it back over and voila a cute textured border. I added some extra small stars that I had doodled around and popped them up on dimensionals.

I used the Curly Label Punch and another star together with a Designer Brad to make a matching embellishment.

These photos of my gorgeous Sam were taken by my friend Deb Godley and the Art by Design stamp set has a stamp just perfect for giving her credit. I thought that was very cute when I found it.

My chipboard letters for the title were sponged with black ink and I also stamped the "Wild about you" from the Wild About You stamp set in black ink. My photos were all edged with Stazon to help them pop off the background.

Thanks for stopping by.

Just Add Ink Challenge 6

This week's challenge at Just Add Ink is a Sketch Challenge.

Here is the sketch:

and here is my entry:

These photos were taken of my bubba last Easter. The journalling reads:

This was Samuel’s first Easter and he was totally in awe of the shiny foil wrapped Easter Eggs. For the Easter break we camped at Lake Keepit and early Sunday morning the Easter Bunny left one of these eggs in Sam’s cot. Imagine my surprise when I woke up that morning and looked in his cot to see the chocolate egg still intact up one end of the cot and the foil wrapping rolled up in his fist. I have no idea how he managed to do it without breaking the egg (or the wrapping for that matter) but he was certainly pleased with his treasure.
April 2009 5 ½ months old

Here is a close-up of the flowers and little chick from the A Good Egg Stamp Set.

I have cut flowers from my patterned paper and then used Build-a-brads with co-ordinating paper for the centres. I have also use the same paper for the little chick's shell.

The ribbon was from a freebie ribbon bundle that was available last year and co-ordinates perfectly.

For my title I have used Chipboard letters sponged with Riding Hood Red Ink.

I printed my journalling on Very Vanilla card and then sponged over the top with So Saffron ink.

Be sure to check out all the gorgeous creations at Just Add Ink.

Happy Stamping
